Meet the Team: Petra & Halla
Petra and Halla share a strong background in healthcare and a genuine love for supporting people in their daily lives.
Halla graduated as a Registered Nurse 18 years ago and has a broad experience across hospitals, health centres, mental health, prisons, and healthcare management both in New Zealand and Iceland.
After spending the last two years overseas, she’s happy to be back in Taupō, where she proudly calls home.
Petra holds qualifications as a laboratory and anaesthetic technician, with extensive experience working across various hospital wards in the Netherlands.
Since 2010, she has made New Zealand her home and, more recently, has been working independently in Taupō as a healthcare advocate.
Our Services
WeCare Taupō is here to support clients who are living independently but may benefit from regular check-ins.
These visits can include:
• Monitoring vital signs (like blood pressure)
• Medication support
• Diabetes care
• Post surgery support
• Relief Care if family members need a break
• Assistance following treatment plans from physiotherapists and other providers
• Accompanying clients to medical appointments
• Acting as a support person and communicator between clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Dealing with anything practical i.e. bed change, shower, laundry.
• Organising more permanent solutions i.e. ongoing meals, house cleaning.
